| A History Nurses Can Grow On.
Founded in 1901 by graduates of seven area hospital nursing schools, and originally named Hennepin County Graduate Nurses Association (HCGNA), the 3rd District Nurses Association was developed to serve as a nursing registry. The first of its kind, the HCGNA served as resource of adequately trained and properly instructed nurses, since--at that time--nurses were often trained on the job. For more History, click here.

Since that time, 3rd District Nurses has continued to deliver the support area nurses desire, helping them face today's nursing challenges. As a full-service professional nursing organization serving as a grassroots arm of the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA), we strive to meet the multi-dimensional and evolving needs of registered nurses in Anoka, Carver, Hennepin and Scott counties of Minnesota. In addition, we provide many products and services to nurses throughout Minnesota and surrounding regions.

Where 3rd District Nurses Work. 3rd District serves all nurses throughout the state of Minnesota, most specifically those nurses who live or work in Anoka, Carver, Hennepin or Scott counties. To become a Status 1 or Status 2 member of 3rd District Nurses, an MNA membership is required.
