MNA Cultural Diversity Education Module Present by Faced of Nursing Interest Group When: Monday October 27th, 2008 Time: 12:00-1:30pm (light lunch served) Contact Hours:1.5 ANCC / 1.8 MN BON Purpose:This presentation is to update participants on the work of MNA's Cultural Diversity Task Force, which involved focus groups with area nurses about working in a diverse environment of patients and staff. A preview of the planned Tool Kit for working in a culturally diverse organization will be presented, with time for input and feedback. Objectives: At the completion of this conference the participant will be able to, - Describe the process of cultural competence as it applies to health-care personnel
- Discuss three of the key issues raised during focus groups with area RNs, related to cultural diversity in the workplace.
- Identify two interventions that nurses could use in the workplace to celebrate a culturally diverse staff.
