    In 2005 3rd District invited members to join a new Interest Group to begin the process of understanding the values of the many cultures nurses encounter daily in the workplace. This group was formed as a result of a discussion at the 2005 summer Board of Director's Retreat on how to address the working relationship of the diverse nurseing population in the workplace. It is called the "Faces of Nursing" Interest Group.
    For 5 years 3rd District has held meaningful discussions and continuing education events addressing this issue. We are now wanting to extend our reach and involve nurses in this "forum discussion". This is an opportunity to discuss the diversity in your workplace -- what you have found to be positive in learning from this diversity, what difficulties are encountered when working with nurse of varying cultural backgrounds and what you would like to see 3rd District do to encourage understanding, comunication and sharing of knowledge between cultures to provide the best care possible for our patients.
