The Awards Committee The Awards Committee oversees the selection of candidates for both the 3rd District Nurses Awards and Scholarship Programs—both of which recognize members for their contribution to the profession, their community and their Association The Bylaws Committee This committee reviews the Bylaws at least every two years, studying and developing all proposed amendments and submitting said amendments for action by the membership. This committee is necessary to ensure that all Bylaws are current and reflect the needs of our evolving membership. The Finance Committee Consisting of an elected treasurer and six members, this group formulates and recommends an annual budget to the board of directors. It also monitors the expenditures, investment of funds and overall financial status of the Association. The Membership Committee The Committee on Membership studies and evaluates all matters pertaining to the Association members, while developing and implementing plans for promoting the Association to new and existing members. The Nominations Committee This group solicits names of qualified and willing 3rd District Members for elective office and for Delegates to the MNA and prepares the slate of nominees for election. The Professional Practice/Continuing Education Committee This committee promotes the understanding and improvement of the practice of the registered nurse via education while also promoting adherence to the ANA codes and standards. In addition, the Professional Practice Committee will review concerns for nursing practice submitted by the profession and/or public. The Public Affairs Committee This group studies various legislation for its implications for nurses, nursing and health and strives to communicate that information to its membership. In addition, this committee promotes active involvement of District nurses at all levels of the governmental process . The Interest Groups Interest Groups at 3rd District Nurses promote the understanding and improvement of the practice of the registered nurse through education.
